Alabama Gets Inducted, Alan Jackson Gets Nominated – Today In Country Music History
On this date in 2005, Alabama, Glen Campbell and DeFord Bailey were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Alan Jackson picked up a record number of CMA Award nominations in 2002 and there was no gettin' over Ronnie Milsap in 1981.

- Billy Ray Cyrus performed the national anthem at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois in 1996, as Bill Clinton was nominated for re-election.
- K.T. Oslin underwent quadruple-bypass heart surgery at Nashville's St. Thomas Hospital in 1995.

- "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me" took Ronnie Milsap to Number One on the Billboard country chart in 1981.
