And the Miranda Lambert Concert Ticket Winners Are….
Earlier this week I posted a contest asking you to leave a comment telling me why you, or someone you know, deserves a pair of tickets to the Miranda Lambert Concert here in Wichita Falls...and WOW! You guys really came through and left me with nearly 600 comments to read through! And yes, I actually sat down and read through them ALL - which is why this announcement of the winners is being posted later than anticipated.
There were so many great comments and stories that I sincerely wish I could give tickets to every single one of you, but I just can't so I had to narrow it down to five. But that was too hard so I tossed in a couple extra tickets and picked seven winners instead!
So without further ado, here are the winners:
Kama Dawn Findley
Hmmmm...Where do I start! The hubby and I have been together nearly 4 years. In those for years I went to basic after dating for 6 weeks, the went to Fort Sam Houston where I spent nearly a year in medical school training. As soon as I completed training I was on a plane overseas! Ive been home 2 years and in these past two years I've been pregnant 90% of the time. We have a almost 2 year old daughter, and a 7 month old son. I work 5am-4 or 5 pm. Sometimes 24 hour shifts! As soon as I get home, hubby is walking out the door to his evening job! To top everything off of being a full time soldier, I'm a full time mother, wife, and full time student! At nearly 24 years old I have one more year til I obtain two BS degrees :) I want to be an officer in the ARMY, and soon! Let's face it the economy is kicking our a**. lol! I don't want my kids or family to struggle like I had too! The sacrifices I make for my family and my country are well worth it though! My husband is a soldier of nearly 12 yrs, and in those years did 4 deployments! He's originally for Cost Rica, adopted a 8 years old, and has near been to a concert! Can you imagine that? He says crowds scare him! Really? I on the other hand haven't been since I was 7 or 8 years old. That's nearly 15 years! Well with everything being said, I think we deserve to spend a little quality time together and go on a date night! Alone...without the kids! As well as show my husband that concern and crowds are a good time:) Even if we aren't picked...I think it's great that y'all are giving away a handful of free tickets! That's just awesome! I'd rather right a reason, vs become crazy obsessed with trying to be caller 100 lol! Thanks again:)"
"Winning tickets mean that I can give them to a veteran who might not otherwise be able to attend."
"I am a Vietnam Vet and would love to have tickets for me and my wife!! We both are drawing SSD for unemployable and I am 100% disabled retired Vet!!"
"Hey BLAKE...!!! Fisrt of all THANKS for giving us listeners such a great station to listen to.... My reason is personal to just me... My wife of 21 years is such a beautiful person to me... She works so hard, and Everyone that knows her knows that she NEVER quits... She is so very unselfish, she will never do anything for herself.. I would love to take her out and let her know just how special she is to me.. She is my Hero...I love her.. Thanks Marty...!!!"

""What in the World?" "Wichita Falls!" That's where I want to be--watching Miranda do her thing! You say, "What About Georgia?" I say, "Nah! Miranda ain't there!" "Don't it Make You Want to Dance? If I get to go, I'll be "Better in the Long Run". "Between You and Your Memory", "I Can't Be Bothered" or "Greyhound Bound for Nowhere"! "A Girl Like Me" will feel "Desperation" if I don't get to see Mrs. Shelton! Please BLAKE FM, be "The Same Old You" that I love and listen to daily and don't "Bring Me Down"! I want to hear Miranda play my favorite "Love Song", "Over You" on her "New Strings". It really hurts to think I might not get to see "The Fastest Girl in Town". "I Just Really Miss You Miranda Lambert! My "Texas Pride" won't let me be a "White Liar"--if you choose me, I'll be "Better in the Long Run"! Don't cause me "Another Heartache" and make me put some "Kerosene" on the notes I took to write this comment and set them on fire! I want to be "Makin' Plans" and "Getting Ready"! "Somebody Else" wouldn't mind as much, but if I can't go, I might drink "Jack Daniels" in the "Dry Town" next to Amarillo and be "Down"... For sure I won't be "Famous in a Small Town"! If I can't go, I might even say, "I Want to Die!" It takes "All Kinds of Kinds" of Miranda Fans, but "A Heart Like Mine" is a "Dear Diamond", "Only Prettier", and forever a Miranda fan I'll stay. Even if I don't win. I'll just have to say, "That's the Way the World Goes 'Round" and just "Maintain the Pain". I want to hear a "Fine Tune" (or several), so send me BLAKE FM! "Me and Your Cigarettes" should be your priority! You're "Nobody's Fool"; I don't want to see the "Oklahoma Sky" in April, I want to see Miranda! Let me go there; if I go I'll be "Somewhere Trouble Don't Go". Please BLAKE FM, don't leave me in the "Baggage Claim" like a bunch of "Dead Flowers"! I need some "Easy Living" in the form of a Miranda Lambert/Dierks Bentley concert! If I get to go, the year of this middle school English teacher should be "Easy From Now On". Everyone I know loves Miranda! My Mama and my "Mama's Broken Heart" are still living in "The House that Built Me" Even she listens to "Gunpowder and Lead"! "Look at Miss Ohio!" She's as pretty as a "Virginia Bluebell", but if she ain't a Miranda fan like I am, she's no better than a "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" sending "Love Letters" to an ex-boyfriend she might stalk! She should be "More Like Her" (Miranda!)! I've gotta "Run Daddy Run" for now. I've interrupted "Me and Charlie Talking" to leave this comment. Be "Safe"! (55 Miranda Lambert songs used to write this comment)."
"My mother in law was in a horrible semi accident and lost both legs in October. Since that time, we had to make several trips to okc to he with her. She still isn't home and I think a night out would without three kids would be a great way to get our minds off of things!"
Linda Hatfield Ward (For Karianna Raschke)
"I'm CERTAIN that Karianna Raschke deserves free tickets. She is not only an awesome 5th grade teacher, but a wonderful mom, wife to a firefighter here in Wichita Falls and a fierce cancer survivor of 8 years. She never misses a chance to encourage others who are facing the battle of their lives with cancer or do whatever she can to raise awareness and money for the cause! You couldn't make a better choice!"
Karianna Wrote: "I would be so thankful if I could win tickets! I am a mom to 2 precious girls, a teacher, & an 8 year Cancer SURVIVOR! I am BLESSED to celebrate 8yrs. in Feb! PRASIE GOD!!!"
