An armed man from New Mexico was shot to death by police after breaking into the Austin home of YouTube personality Meg Turney with intentions to possibly kill her boyfriend.

As reported by KXAN, 23-year-old Christopher Giles drove from Albuquerque, NM to Austin, TX to track down internet personality and model Meg Turney. Police say Giles had notes on his phone about Turney and her boyfriend Gavin Free. It is believed that Giles had developed an obsession over Turney and resented Free for being her boyfriend. One of the notes stated, "I want Gavin Free to die alone, with no children."

Austin police received a 911 call from Turney's residence on the night of January 26th saying the couple had been woken up by the sound of a gunshot and breaking glass. The couple hid in the closet while remaining on the line with the 911 operator. Officers arrived at the scene and engaged Giles outside of the couple's home. Giles opened fire on the officers and was killed in the return fire by one officer.

Albuquerque police's investigation of Giles' home found he lived alone, describing him as "single, lonely, and disturbed." Investigation of Giles' home and surveillance at Turney's home show that Giles was set on causing harm to either Free or Turney.
