Yes, you read that headline right. Beard transplants are a real thing, and with the popularity of beards recently, it's becoming a much more popular procedure.

According to DNAinfo.com, the "hip and fashionable" crowd in their 20's and 30's are the fastest growing group to take part in the surgery that can cost upwards of $7000. Some people do it to feel younger while some do it because they can't grow their own beard and want to look like the other hipsters in their crowd.

"Whether you are talking about the Brooklyn hipster or the advertising executive, the look is definitely to have a bit of facial hair," said Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, a facial plastic surgeon who has performed the procedure for 12 years.

Now, I'll admit, I'm one of the sad men in this world who can't grow a beard. When I try, it comes in patchy and for some reason half blond (even though I have very dark hair). It's even more sad when you see my father, who has a glorious beard. Even with that, I can't imagine going through with a procedure to make it possible. It would feel like cheating. Plus, if a time comes when I had to shave it for a job or something, I'd feel like I wasted all the money.

But, for those of you beardless like me, but with lower self esteem, you now have a way to look like the Duck Dynasty guys. Just save up some cash and head to New York. Your new beard is only a doctors appointment away!
