Everyone knows they should lock their doors when they leave their vehicle, but sometimes we do dumb things. Such is the case of Sebastian Russo, who had his vehicle stolen, along with his children and a poodle. Lucky for the Russo family, the kids, dog, and van were returned to his home a short while later.

Russo was running into a pet store to get a leash for their family pet, but while he did so, he left the van running outside. Shortly after he went into the store, another customer rushed in to say the van had been stolen.

Not necessarily a shocker, since he left it unlocked and running. Always a smart move, right?

Here’s where the thief screwed up. Children are great at pointing out wrongs to adults. Russo’s kids are no different. When the thief tried to get change out of the change tray, they scolded him for taking the money. Between the kids rattling on in the back seat and the poodle yapping at him, the thief couldn’t take it anymore.

He asked the kids their address, and he proceeded to drive them home, drop them and the van off, and then took off down the street. I’d say it was unsuccessful all the way around for this guy.

The Russo family is happy to have everyone safe and sound, and there are no leads as to who the thief is. I guess this goes to show that you shouldn’t mess with kids, and you really don’t want to be in a van with a poodle who won’t quit barking.
