Carrie Underwood donated her time and music, and famed jeweler Johnathon Arndt donated the venue and hospitality. MusiCares benefited from a Saturday night (Sept. 26) house concert in Nashville, as guests helped raise more than $146,000 for the charity.

Underwood performed at the private, 18,000-square-foot home in Brentwood while Arndt and his partner, Newman Arndt, underwrote the fundraiser, allowing the full price of tickets to go to MusiCares, an organization that provides financial support to musicians and members of the music community in need. The Tennesseean reports that it’s the first time in the Grammy charity’s history that someone has picked up the cost of the event.

Arndt designed Underwood’s yellow diamond engagement ring. The concert took place at his vacation home, with guests enjoying the music inside after a reception on the patio. Arndt indicated he’d like to try to make the event a regular occurrence.

“We said, ‘We’ll take care of everything. You enjoy the sales of the tickets,’” he tells the newspaper. “We truly believe in giving back to the community and giving back to the organization 100 percent.”

It's been a busy month for Underwood. She was in England much of last week and performed a popup show in Atlanta the week prior. She's also promoting her new Storyteller album, set to hit stores on Oct. 23. It features the single "Smoke Break" and 12 other songs. Look for her to host the 2015 CMA Awards on Nov. 4.
