Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt teamed up for a joint performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night (Feb. 15), giving fans a very special version of Underwood's current hit, "Heartbeat" coupled with Hunt's previous No. 1, "Take Your Time."

Hunt began the memorable duet sitting alone on a stool in a white T-shirt and black pants to sing the first verse of "Take Your Time." As he got up from the stool and walked towards the edge of the stage, Underwood joined him to sing as a duet, sporting a white dress with black straps, complementing Hunt visually and vocally. The duo then traded verses on "Take Your Time" before the spotlights changed to red and they segued into Underwood's latest single "Heartbeat," which features Hunt on harmonies.

Looking intently at each other on every lyric, the two country stars portrayed incredible chemistry together, and it's a wonder why this is the first time they have performed the song live. Alternating between verses, it was on the chorus that the two impressed most and soared on every note. "Heartbeat" then transitioned back to Hunt singing "Take Your Time" while Underwood continued to belt the "Hearbeat" chorus, making for an enjoyable mashup that is bound to hit radio airwaves tomorrow.

"Heartbeat" is from Underwood's most recent album, Storyteller, and it's one that she admit is particularly personal to her, since she was thinking of her husband, Nashville Predator Mike Fisher, when she was recording it. "Take Your Time" is from Hunt's debut album Montevallo, which is nominated for Country Album of the Year.

The artists not only performed together, they were also both nominated in the 58th annual Grammy Awards. Underwood scored a nod for Best Country Solo Performance for "Little Toy Guns," while Hunt was nominated for Best Country Album as well as the all-gene category of Best New Artist.
