Heartwarming Rescue Story: Coast Guard Discovers Lost Dog in Shipping Container in Houston, Texas!

While doing random inspections of shipping containers in the Port of Houston, the United States Coast Guard heard scratching and barking from a container stacked at the top of multiple other containers.

From how it looks in the video below, that container was at least a couple of hundred feet high.

They lowered the container and opened it up; sure enough, a dog popped out.

Lucky Dog

One of the inspectors pointed out that there were thousands of shipping containers, and they just happened to be standing close enough to that one to hear her.

They estimate she was probably in there for about a week. The inspectors dubbed her "Connie the Container Dog," and took her to the Pasadena Animal Shelter.

Someone Adopt Her

Some have speculated that she might have been put there on purpose, but so far there is no evidence to support that.  She most likely wandered into the shipping container, then someone accidentally locked her in there.

If you would like to adopt Connie the Container Dog, she can be adopted at Forever Changed Animal Rescue where they are currently focusing on some of the health issues she incurred while stuck in the container.
