There are certain things in this world that confuse me.  They are little things. Most people probably don't even notice them.  If you aren't paying attention, they really don't affect you.  But I'm a weird one I guess, because I see these things and wonder why they are this way.  It keeps me awake at night.  Well, I felt that it was time to share some of these with the world, so without further ado, may I present 3 things around the office that confuse me.

  • The Men's Room Mouthwash Dispenser

In the men's room, attached to the mirror is this device which (going from it's label) is meant to be full of mouthwash.  I can understand this. Sometimes besides just washing your hands you also want to freshen up your breath.  Here's where it gets confusing though.  In all the time I've been here, there has never been anything in this dispenser. This led me to 2 different conclusions. 1) Someone in the building likes minty fresh breath and uses all of it the second it gets filled. or 2) The janitorial staff is just as confused by the placement of this device that they just never fill it.

On top of that, lets say I did walk in the bathroom one afternoon and found the dispenser full of Listerine.  What do I do then?  There's no cup dispenser next to it. Am I supposed to get a hand full of mouthwash?  Do I place my head directly under the thing? Welcome to the confusion.

  • The Bat Outside

One day I walked out the door and sitting on the wall outside was this bat.  Where did it come from? What was it doing here? Was it rabid?  These questions ran through my mind. To my surprise, most people leaving the building just ignored it. Maybe they didn't see it. Maybe they didn't want to see it. Maybe they are so used to bats that this one didn't seem out of place to them. Welcome to the confusion.

  • This Stain On The Sidewalk

Two and a half weeks ago I walked out the door at work and saw this stain on the sidewalk.  I chuckled a little bit, since it kinda looks like a part of the male anatomy, but went on my way.  The next day it was still there.  The next week it was still there.  It's now been two and a half weeks since the first sighting of what I've now named "Sidewalk Penis" and nothing has changed about it.

How did it get there? What sort of fluid caused this stain? How has nobody cleaned it off in two and a half weeks? How do other people walk by this every day and not laugh like a junior high student every time they see it like I do?  Welcome to the confusion.
