Winspear and Kamau were born on July 8 at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, VA.

The 8-week old feline brothers will be joined by Amani, an 8-week old black Labrador retriever puppy. In Swahili, 'Amani' means 'Peace.' Zoo experts believe that since labs are easygoing in public settings, and since the pup will live and grow with the cubs, he'll provide a calming influence for the cats.

Winspear and Kamau will join the zoo's Animal Adventures outreach program to help teach the public about their highly endangered species and conservation efforts on their behalf.

A Dallas Zoo representative says that you won't be able to see the two cheetah cubs for awhile as they grow, but to look for them next year in a new cheetah run where you will be able to see them run up to 70 miles per hour.
