A Florida couple have a whopper of a story to tell, and they’re laughing about it now. A couple of weeks ago, however, they weren’t so happy when their dog ate an envelope containing $1,000 cash.

Christy Lawrenson says they’ve been saving money to pay off her car, and when they have $1,000 saved up, they take it to the bank. As it turns out, this payment was ready to go but was temporarily on the counter until they could take it in.

When her husband came home for lunch, he found bits of $100 bills strewn around the kitchen. That’s when he induced vomiting by feeding the pooch hydrogen peroxide. He then  bagged up the bits of bills and they later piece it all together.

Pretty nasty, if you ask me.

Fortunately for the Lawrensons, they were able to piece together $900 of their stash, and they’ve sent it to the Department of Treasury with an explanation as to what happened. With any luck they’ll send back replacement cash. Or, better yet, a check. One that is kept out of reach of their dog.
