Additional Information

America’s fastest-growing sport, is making its presence felt in North Texas with
The Ugly Sweater Race, brought to you by the same people as The Dirty 30 races.

The Holiday spirit and 5k runs make the perfect blend to raise money in today’s world. “There are a possible of four charities to benefit from the event,” said event co-founder Melissa Parker.

An Ugly Sweater Race takes the novelty of the age-old ugly sweater Christmas party idea and morphs it into a race. Runners wear their ugliest holiday sweater, come out and race in hopes of winning money for their chosen charity. The first male and female to finish will win the donation as well as the captain with the largest team and the runner with the most votes for ugliest sweater. Runners aren’t required to race, but can enjoy running, walking or skipping with their family and friends. The event is not only a run, but also a festive holiday event complete with hot cocoa provided for the runners instead of water stations, holiday tunes, and the ugly sweater contest. Toys will also be collected for the Salvation Army. This event echoes the holiday spirit with participants getting into the festive mood by having fun while giving back to a charity.

All runners will receive a free t-shirt and hot cocoa along with a chance to be a part of a memorable race that is giving back and bringing awareness to several charities. The race is run by a volunteer staff and is currently seeking additional volunteers to assist.
