We're thinking it's gonna be a pretty good Saturday in Wichita Falls. Especially if you're one who likes guns, guitars or pancakes!

It's always good to start at the start, and that's usually breakfast, in this case the University Kiwanis Pancake Festival from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m at the J.S. Bridwell Ag Center. Tickets are $7.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door. You can get advance tickets at United Market Street, A-1 Rentals, or any University Kiwanis member.

After a hearty breakfast it's time to head over to the MPEC Exhibit Hall where there are two shows going on this Saturday. Guns are a hot topic of conversation these days and if your idea of gun control is hitting what you aim at you'll be right at home at Wichita Falls Gun & Knife Show.

Joe Tom White has been running these shows as long as anyone can remember and we have yet to see anyone go home without a smile on their face or empty handed. Admission is just $5.00 with kids 13 and under getting in free. Even better, if you bring your ticket stub or hand stamp from the Pancake Festival or Guitar Show two get in for the price of one. Even if you're not a gun enthusiast, there's a lot more than guns at the Gun Show and this is one of the biggest shows of the year with a collection of guns, ammo and accessories that simply defies description.

After browsing the Gun Show, head across the hall to the Wichita Falls Guitar Show.

While the Gun Show runs both Saturday and Sunday, the Guitar Show is Saturday only. Admission is just $5.00, the doors open at 10:00 a.m., and again, when you show your ticket stub or stamp from the Pancake Festival or Gun Show, two can get in for the price of one.

The first 100 people to enter get a special reproduction poster and as you shop you'll earn bonus points with each purchase that can be redeemed for special items. The show features live music from several artists including Grammy nominated Leo Hull and the Texas Blues Machine. Whether you play acoustic, electric, country, jazz, rock, ukulele or maybe even banjo, you're going to find something interesting at the Guitar Show. The Texas Musicians Museum will even be there to remind us if the rich musical heritage of the Lone Star State.

So there you go, guns, guitars and pancakes all in one fell swoop at the Multi Purpose Event Center in downtown Wichita Falls this Saturday.

It's gonna be a great weekend.
