I had a chance to visit with Vince Cambron Monday morning about the 2012 Easter Pageant at the Holy City of The Wichita's.

Cambron mentioned that this is the 87th year the Easter Pageant has been presented, making it the longest running passion play drama in America. Once again this year, there are two performances - March 31st and April 7 at 8:30pm each night. Both are free and open to the public. The March 31st performance has been dubbed a Homecoming Celebration, with a special invitation out to all former cast and crew members.

When asked about preparation time for this annual event, Cambron said that after each year's Easter Pageant he usually take a few days off, then begins preparing for the following year's performance. And when asked how an event like this can last for 87 straight years, Vince didn't hesitate - "on the back of volunteers', he said.
