Hotter’N Hell Finish Line Village Offers Free Entertainment For the Entire Family

Hotter'N Hell 2016 - Finish Line Village (40)
Dave Diamond

Well … Now that we’ve all survived the Great American Eclipse it’s time to focus on the next big event; the Hotter’N Hell Hundred!

As you may know, the event is this weekend, beginning Thursday evening with the opening of the Consumer Show and continuing on through the final off road running events and downtown criterium racing on Sunday.

What you may NOT know is that everyone, cyclists and non-cyclists alike, can have a great time in the festival atmosphere that is Finish Line Village.

First of all, the Austin Bike Zoo and the Wichita Falls Alliance For The Arts are back with their Art Bikes! Broken down bicycles, tricycles and unicycles were rescued from the trash man and turned into bright, colorful works of art. You can see them on display throughout the weekend. Some will even be RIDDEN during the event!

There will be food and drink vendors of all sorts and plenty of live music throughout the day on Saturday.

Things kick off with Hannah Belle Lecter, a local band that got its start when some of the main members met at a Backdoor Theatre production of Rock of Ages. They decided they needed to form a band and have been rocking out together ever since. They’ll take the stage at about 10:15 Saturday morning.

Up next is the Maylee Thomas band. From her early days as a gospel singer, to her legendary status as a Texas must-see act, Maylee embodies the soul of Texas, mixing gospel-based blues with a soul driven rock, touches of pop, and the very faintest caresses of country from time to time. She’ll take the stage around Noon.

After a ride like the Hotter’N Hell Hundred, you may need something to get you energized for the drive home, and the final act for the day promises to be just what you need. No Limits is a Dallas-based band that plays cover music from 70s classic rock, country, blues, funk, R&B, Latin, metal, pop, and today’s top-40 hits, and is sure to get you up and on your feet! You can see and hear some samples on their website.

No Limits will be taking the stage at around 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
