What would happen if the Nazis had escaped to the dark side of the moon at the end of World War II and set up shop on the dark side (pardon the pun)?  That's the general idea of the new German film, "Iron Sky".

It's described as "Dr Stangelove" meets "Independence Day", and if that's not enough to pique your interest, it's a fairly low budget indie film with much of the budget that it does have coming from individuals. That seems to be an emerging trend with European indie films. The trailer for this one is interesting enough that I'd probably watch the film even with sub-titles. You can see the trailer and learn more about the film from the story on The Local by clicking here. It's scheduled for a German release date in 2012.
