Watching Jake Owen's new "American Country Love Song" music video will almost feel like real life (pun intended) on your computer screen. The clip uses special technology to give viewers a 360-degree experience of the video's locations.

This "American Country Love Song" clip was directed by Joseph Itaya and shot in the Florida Keys. Viewers will see Owen next to his 1966 Volkswagon microbus (aka "Jake's Love Bus"), singing near to the water and taking part in a giant beach party.

"I'm a kind of carefree guy ... that's my persona," the country star tells Mashable. "I grew up in Florida on the beach my whole life, and I've always wanted to be the guy who brings happiness to people and makes people smile."

In order to experience Owen's new music video in all its glory, be sure to watch it on the YouTube mobile app or via the Chrome or Firefox web browsers. (And if the technology seems familiar, you may remember that Luke Bryan used it for his "Home Alone Tonight" lyric video).

"American Country Love Song" comes from Owen's forthcoming American Love record, his fifth studio album, set for release on July 29.

"I made a record that's really fun, it feels great, and it's really breezy, and I think it fits me really well," the artist says. "For the people who have been loyal fans for a long time, I think they're going to get something that they kind of expected but something that they kind of didn't expect in a great way."

This 360-degree video is not the official music video for the song; that clip was released in mid-April, and follows Owen's massive road trip from Nashville, Tenn., to Key West, Fla., in his VW van. Rather, this new piece was made to help promote the launch of Owen's new whiskey brand, Beach Whiskey.
