Jake Owen did a little too much Cinco de Mayo partying on Saturday and it almost got him busted.  It's a bizarre story and some of the details are unclear, but here's what we know.

Sometime around 8:30 P.M. a sheriff's deputy saw a man - whom we now know was Jake - wearing an "old man mask" and dancing outside the window of a Steak 'n Shake in Vero Beach, Florida, which is Jake's hometown.

For some reason, the deputy decided to check it out.  Following the picture of him next to the police vehicle in his board shorts, Owen revealed more info about the incident. “I was wearing an old man mask and the sheriff decided to rip me out of Steak And Shake and embarrass me in front of my family. Classic,” he said.

We don't know what happened next, but it’s obvious that the singer wasn’t pleased with the way things played out — and he didn’t stop there. “You give a guy a gun and a badge and he thinks he’s John Wayne,” he tweeted, taking a stab at the sheriff who put him in cuffs. “Thanks Indain River County Sheriffs Office. Unreal.” Yikes.

Can't blame Owen for being upset, afterall, he was just out having some fun on a party holiday and was rudely interrupted by the law over what seems to have been a misunderstaning.  “I’m calling it a night. My mom cried. My Dad was embarrassed,” he said after midnight. “I lived out another day. Happy Cinco De Mayo.”
