When I was a kid, my parents had a couple of poodles in the house. They would bark at every leaf that passed by and every person who got out of their car within a block radius, but they were awesome dogs. It’s funny how animals always seem to have a favorite person, and it always made me a little jealous that the dogs wanted to hang out with other people and not me. We have a cat in our house, however, who doesn’t seem to have a favorite. He’s an opportunist. He’ll go from person to person in order to get the maximum amount of attention possible. Some pets don’t have a favorite or a place they can call home, and that’s where you can help.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for a lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.

Kennedy

Kennedy is a small, adult, female, short haired cat. She’s really cuddly and loves sitting in your lap, and since she’s only 5-years-old she still likes to get in play time. Her favorite spot is a patch of sunny carpet, and she warms up to people quickly. She’s spayed, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Kennedy may like to sleep a lot just like every cat, but she would love to have a place to call her own. Stop by to meet her and see if she’s right for your family!

Smokey Night loves to play hard and he loves to sleep just as hard, and he’d love to have a permanent home that he can call his own. Swing by to meet him and take this guy home with you!
