George Strait was inducted on this date in 2006, Kenny Chesney scored his first of many number one hits in 1997 and Hank Williams was lonesome in 1949.

• George Strait, Sonny James and session guitarist Harold Bradley were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

• Brooks & Dunn's Hillbilly Deluxe album was released in 2005.

• Kenny Chesney scored his first Number One single with "She's Got It All" in 1997.

• Dottie West was in an automobile accident on the way to the Grand Ole Opry in 1991. She died four days later.

• Kenny Rogers' Eyes That See In The Dark album was released in 1983.

• Hank Williams recorded "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," "My Bucket's Got A Hole In It" and "I Just Don't Like This Kind Of Livin'" during an afternoon session at the E.T. Herzog Studio in Cincinnati in 1949.
