Leah and Firefly – Humane Society Pets of the Week!

I’ve always wanted to have a pet bird. They’re pretty, they happily chirp away, and depending upon the type you get, they can be rather friendly and “talk” to you. It’s a nice idea to me, but my cats would probably think it was an even better idea. Spot, one of my cats, is an avid bird hunter. Though she caught birds when we lived up north, she hasn’t succeeded while we’ve been here in Texas. She never gives up, though. She’ll sit outside an “bark” at the birds flying above her, dreaming of how she can get at them. For some pets, their dream is simply to have a home to call their own. That’s where you come in.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for a lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

Leah

Leah is a small, young, female Shih Tzu/Terrier mix. At just over a year old, she has lots of energy but still loves to snuggle in a warm lap. She’ll play fetch with you, take walks around the neighborhood, and keep your toes warm at night when she sleeps at the end of the bed. She’s spayed, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Leah may be small, but she has a big personality. She’d make a great addition to your household, so swing by to meet her!

Firefly

Firefly is a large, adult, male tabby. He’s been featured as a Pet of the Week in the past, and he’s been at the Humane Society for some time now. He has a great personality, love being around people, and enjoys naptime in the sun. He’s nearly 8-years-old, so he doesn’t have the energy of a kitten, but that doesn’t stop him from playing or enjoying a bit of catnip. He’s neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm tested and on preventative. Firefly would love to have a permanent home to relax in, and if you’re looking for a cat that’s a little more low-key, he’s your guy. Stop by to introduce yourself today!
