Little Big Town Has A Little One, Ricky Van Shelton Is Simple – Today In Country Music History [VIDEO]

Little Big Town had a “Little One” on this date in 2007, Shania was “Up” in Chi-town in 2003 and Ricky Van Shelton was very happy just being a “Simple Man” back in 1991.

Here’s the list for Today In Country Music for 27 July, 2011.

  • Little Big Town‘s Kimberly Roads and husband Stephen Schlapman had a daughter, Daisy Pearl, in Phoenix in 2007.
  • Shania Twain gave a free concert at Chicago’s Grant Park in 2003. The event was taped for an NBC-TV special, Shania Twain UP! Live In Chicago.
  • Kenny Chesney‘s “The Good Stuff” began a seven-week ride at the top of the Billboard country chart in 2002.
  • Ricky Van Shelton hit the top of the Billboard country charts with “I Am A Simple Man” in 1991.
  • Emmylou Harris went gold for the first time in her career with the Elite Hotel album in 1978.
  • “Ring Of Fire” earned Johnny Cash the Number One position on the Billboard country singles chart in 1963.
