Falls Fest, the big two day festival in Lucy Park is coming up on Friday and Saturday, September 28th and 29th. Along with plenty of kid and family friendly fun and more food than you can shake a cheesecake on a stick at, there will also be a lot of live entertainment on stages throughout the park. This year's mainstage acts include Shantell, the Tyler Rushing Band and Kevin Fowler on Friday evening and Cody O'Neil and the Crosswind, Twicebroken and the Marshall Tucker Band on Saturday evening.

A few days ago I had the opportunity to chat with Doug Gray, lead vocalist for the Marshall Tucker Band. The conversation covered everything from his last visit to Wichita Falls to the Grand Ole Opry (Did you know that the Marshall Tucker Band has played there? Twice?) to the Marshall Tucker Band's influence on Texas/Red Dirt/Americana music and what he thinks of that genre. We even chatted about the cheesy old science fiction movies we saw as kids.

As one of the founding members of the Marshall Tucker Band, Doug has been a working and traveling musician for more than 40 years and you can tell it's the only career he'd ever be happy with.

We broadcast an abbreviated version of the conversation, but I didn't want you to miss out on everything we didn't have time for on the air so the complete conversation can be played here.
