  • The Country Music Hall of Fame unveiled a bronze statue of the late Hank Williams on the 75th anniversary of the singer's birth in 1998. His children, Hank Williams Jr. and Jett Williams, met for the first time at the ceremony.
  • Hank Williams Jr.'s Greatest Hits album was released in 1983.
  • Reba McEntire made her Opry debut in 1977.
