Shining The Light On Islamic Terrorism: Brigitte Gabriel In Wichita Falls Friday Night

Friday night will be a like most any other Friday night in north Texas and southern Oklahoma; high school football, tailgate parties and food.  But there will be one exception.  Brigitte Gabriel, New York Times bestselling author and Founder and President of ACT! for America, will make her very first appearance in Wichita Falls at Memorial Auditorium at 7 pm.  Admission to the event is free and open to everyone.  Many of you have probably seen her on television or read one of her books, Because They Hate or They Must Be Stopped.   No matter what your Friday night holds in store this week, this is one event you must attend.

It’s easy enough for commentators like me to read and research and repeat information on something as frightening as radical Islam.  And let there be no doubt, it is frightening.  But to hear about it from someone who has lived with it, who’s day-to-day existence was literally a struggle to survive-that is something no amount of research can allow me to convey.  America’s eyes were opened to things we were never taught about in school or saw on the news prior to 9/11.  The threat has been there for a very, very long time, but we either chose to ignore it or it was simply dismissed as something that could not happen here in America.  Ms. Gabriel’s story is frightening and amazing, inspiring and sobering.

Growing up in Lebanon, Brigitte experienced first-hand the violence of Islamic extremism.  She and her family spent years living in a bomb shelter, surrounded by the terror and destruction left behind by radical Muslim attackers.  She escaped to Israel, where she began a career in journalism and eventually she made her way to the United States.  Quoted from a March, 2011 New York Times article:

“America has been infiltrated on all levels by radicals who wish to harm to America,” she said. “They have infiltrated us at the C.I.A., at the F.B.I., at the Pentagon, at the State Department. They are being radicalized in radical mosques in our cities and communities within the United States.”

Friday night, she’ll share her entire story and more at Memorial Auditorium.  Her take on current events in the Middle East will likely raise some eyebrows.  Again, you’ll be getting the facts from an individual who has lived it.  Given the state of our world today and the rapid pace at which Islam is spreading, her speech is one which will leave you enlightened and informed.  And you'll leave asking yourself, "Why do I not hear about these things on the evening news?"  Good question.  We'll see you Friday night!
