UPDATE (6/19/13 6:50pm): Shortly before 3:00 p.m. today, Wichita Falls Police Officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Call Field Rd in reference to Shots Fired. Once on scene officers established a perimeter around the residence and began to collect information. The suspect was believed to be armed with high powered rifles and based on information collected at the scene SWAT and Negotiators were activated for a response.

WFPD SWAT and Negotiators arrived on scene shortly afterwards and took control of the scene. Shortly before 5:00 p.m. The suspect surrendered to officers at the scene without any incident. There were no injuries to citizens or officers at the scene. The Criminal Investigations Section was called to the scene and will be processing the crime scene for evidence.

Craig Alan Shave, white male, DOB 05-22-1957 has been arrested for Aggravated Assault (Family Violence) and transported to the Wichita County Jail.

UPDATE: (6/19/13 4:56pm) - The WFPD is reporting that the situation on Call Field has been resolved without incident. A 57-year-old male suspect is in custody. Call Field Rd. is reopened for normal traffic

The Wichita Falls police department has set up a perimeter near the 4400 block of Call Field Road between Phillips Drive and University Avenue after reports of a man shooting at a vehicle in a driveway.

The latest reports indicate that the suspect has barricaded himself in a house and police have evacuated several nearby homes.

SWAT and negotiators have been deployed. Police are asking that citizens please avoid the area of Call Field between University and Phillips until scene has been resolved.

All children at the University Academy Day Care are reported to be safe and inside. You can access the Day Care on University Avenue via the Kell East access road.
