In case you haven't heard, today marks the beginning of the end of an era. NASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis made its final liftoff from Cape Canaveral, Florida, this morning. As the final mission in a 30 year shuttle program, the crew will deliver a year's supply of supplies to the International Space Station before returning to earth one more time.

It's been 25 years since the seven astronauts died when the Challenger Space Shuttle exploded shortly after liftoff. The accident occurred on January 28th 1986 just 73 seconds into the flight. Killing the entire crew, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe.
