North Texas Grandfather Attacked, Then Led Home by His Scottish Terrier
A 79-year-old Dallas man is recovering at home after being mugged near a school while walking his dog.
Fox News 4 reports that James Barfield saw two men approach him but didn't realize they were about to attack him. The men beat him, kicked him and stole his watch and around $20 dollars he had in his wallet.
They left him bruised and bloodied on the sidewalk. Barfield says the next thing he remembered was his 3-year-old Scottish terrier Franky nudging him. He got up, and the terrier then led him home where he could call for help.
Franky was also bruised, so authorities believe the assailants kicked him as well before leaving the scene.
Barfield suffered several bruises, as well some broken facial bones.
The case remains under investigation.
