Toby Keith Shows His True Colors, Johnny Cash Sings The Blues – Today In Country Music History

Toby Keith showed us his true colors when he got angry in 2002, Reba McEntire’s broken heart netted her a double platinum album in 1992 and Johnny Cash was singing the blues in 1968.

Here’s the list for Today In Country Music History for 20 July, 2011.

  • Toby Keith claimed the Number One position in Billboard with “Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)” in 2002.
  • Ricochet took “Daddy’s Money” to Number One on the Billboard country singles chart in 1996.
  • Billy Ray Cyrus‘ debut album, Some Gave All, was certified gold, platinum and double-platinum two months after its release in 1992.
  • For the first time in her career, Reba McEntire received a double-platinum album, marking two million units shipped of For My Broken Heart, in 1992.
  • Willie Nelson‘s Stardust album was certified gold in 1978.
  • Johnny Cash‘s live version of “Folsom Prison Blues” took the top slot on the Billboard country chart in 1968.
  • Faron Young‘s Number One single “Country Girl” charted in 1959.
