Treat every power line, like it's an active power line.

A pair of brothers in Fort Worth, unfortunately died after touching a downed power line during those severe storms that hit Texas this week. The two boys were eleven and twelve years old. Officials were already responding to a fire caused by downed power lines in the area.

"This is never something we want to have to respond to. We can never talk about it enough, the need for safety around downed power lines. We're just starting storm season," Fort Worth Fire Department's Lt. Kyle Falkner told WFAA on Wednesday.

"Our thoughts and heartfelt prayers go out to the family," a spokesperson for Oncor said in a statement Wednesday. "We urge all our customers to treat every power line as if it’s energized."

Many power lines were down in the Dallas/Fort Worth area during the storms this week. Oncor reports as many as 200,000 residents were without power.
