With this morning's snow and cold temperatures, the Wichita Falls Public Information office has issued this statement involving city services affected by the winter weather.

Winter Weather Morning Update

-Municipal Airport
All American Eagle flights into and out of the Wichita Falls Regional Airport are on schedule. For questions about flights please call 1-800-433-7300. Do not go to the airport to make flight arrangements.

-Streets
City crews were on the streets in two spreaders before 6am this morning checking key intersections and overpasses for ice and treating with chat as needed. The forecast is for freezing rain starting tonight at midnight and running through Friday at noon.  Additional crews are on standby and will be called on as needed. Drivers who encounter a snow/ice maintenance vehicle are reminded to please maintain a safe distance from the vehicle.

-Public Transportation
All bus routes are running but will see some slight delays due to the road conditions.

-Sanitation
Trash trucks are running as scheduled.

-Crews from the Police and Fire Departments, Public Works, Emergency Preparedness, Public Information and Aviation, Traffic and Transportation all have crews on notice, ready to respond as needed.

-The Public Information Office is encouraging everyone to monitor the City’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Official-City-of-Wichita-Falls-TX/341031670034, for the latest news and updates. Citizens should also sign up for free email notices through Notify Me on the City’s website, wichitafallstx.gov. Go to the homepage, look in the left-hand column, click on Notify Me and follow the prompts, check City Press Releases to receive news updates and alerts.
