Hope you enjoyed those few days of warmth, because the next few days are going to be cold, wet and windy.

Effective now through the first half of Thursday, the National Weather Service in Norman, OK has issued a winter storm warning for much of Texoma. According to the KAUZ's Skywarn 6 forecast, the precipitation will initially start as rain this evening around 6:00 PM, but will switch to snow after midnight.

As you can see in the image above, the NWS is forecasting 1-2 inches of snow for Wichita Falls. "Snowfall accumulations are possible with precipitation likely to fall late this evening through Thursday night. Areas west of I-44 could see 2-4 inches of snow, while areas east of I-44 are more likely to only see 1-3 inches of snow," reports Skywarn 6 Meteorologist James Parish.

Here's how NewsChannel 6 breaks down the weather through Friday:

Wednesday: Increasing clouds. Chance of rain late. Highs in the mid to upper 50s. Northeast winds at 5-15 mph.

Wednesday night: Rain before midnight then transitioning into snow. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s. North winds at 10-20 mph.

Thursday: Snow in the morning then a chance of a mix of rain and snow in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds at 10-20 mph,

Friday: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 40s.
