Zac Brown Band are making their debut on Austin City Limits in an hour-long broadcast that truly takes them back to their roots.

The Grammy-winning Atlanta-based group deliver a career-spanning 11-song performance over the course of 60 minutes. One of the standouts of the evening is a subtle, emotionally stirring performance of "Roots," the opening song from ZBB's current album, Welcome Home. The project shows the group returning to their musical roots after a period of musical experimentation, and their ACL performance, which is debuting exclusively with Taste of Country, showcases the songwriting, vocal and instrumental chops that have elevated Zac Brown Band to become one of the biggest live acts in contemporary music across all genres.

"We’re super proud to be on the ACL stage,” frontman and vocalist Zac Brown tells the audience during the intro to "Family Table," another song from Welcome Home.

Brown tells the stories behind many of the group's songs, including "Colder Weather" and "Day That I Die." ZBB showcase their sheer musical diversity with their final three songs, beginning with "The Muse," which they originally recorded with the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl. That's followed by John Prine’s “All the Best" before they wrap up with a tribute to their Southern rock influences with a barnstorming performance of the Allman Brothers Band classic, "Whipping Post."

"To call them country or Southern rock doesn't begin to describe the breadth and depth of what Zac Brown Band is really all about," Austin City Limits Executive Producer Terry Lickona says in a press release. "Singing songs that tell great stories and playing music that just plain makes you feel better is definitely a big part of who they are and where they're from."

Zac Brown Band's Austin City Limits debut airs on Saturday (Oct. 21) at 9PM ET on PBS stations nationwide. For more information and to find out where the show airs in your area, visit the Austin City Limits website.
