Watch Drivers Face 2-Hour Wait to Exit Texas Airport Parking
The Parking Nightmare at Bush Airport: Why Travelers Were Trapped in Their Cars for Hours
If you were at Houston's Bush Airport recently, you might have found yourself in an unexpected predicament—trapped in a parking lot for up to two hours. Yes, you read that right.
The typically mundane task of leaving the airport turned into a test of patience for countless drivers. As car engines idled and frustration mounted, one thing became clear: something had gone terribly wrong.
Super Busy, Huh?
In a news release on Monday, Houston Airports Director of Aviation Jim Szczesniak admitted that, yes, there was a bit of a delay—just a couple of hours, no big deal. According to him, it was partly because the airport was super busy, because who could’ve guessed that an airport would be crowded? He also pointed out that there was an accident where a driver managed to run over a parking attendant’s foot at the exit of the Terminal C, D, and E garage. Naturally, this meant emergency vehicles had to swoop in and block one of the two exit lanes.
Must Have Been Brutal
Houston police chimed in, saying that, yep, one exit lane was shut down thanks to police and firefighters dealing with the whole "ran over the foot" incident. Meanwhile, people stuck in the endless traffic had no clue what was going on—because sitting in a parking lot for hours with no explanation is exactly what everyone wants after a long flight.
