Aaron Watson's new video will make you glad you're not alone for the holidays. The Texas-based singer included "Lonely Lonestar Christmas" on his new Christmas album, and he's letting Taste of Country readers see the new video for the song first.

Watson dresses up loneliness and regret in a pretty package with a bright bow on the song, which pairs a bracing swing-style musical bed track with a lyric about being alone on Christmas, looking back on a relationship that's gone.

"Well, I hope St. Nick has a trick or two up his sleeve / That'll make us be the way that we used to be / The only present underneath my tree / Is a sack of socks that I wrapped up for me / I'm all alone and lonely on a lonely Lonestar Christmas night," he sings to set the scene.

The lyrics are forlorn, but they're colored with humor, and you can almost hear the sly smile on Watson's lips as he delivers a charming vocal performance that makes the song fun. The video also plays against the downcast subject matter, following a man whose big Christmas plans center on sitting around the house by himself in pajamas and a Santa hat, playing video games, putting together a puzzle and even trying his hand at a yo-yo to pass the time. The song comes from An Aaron Watson Family Christmas, which the singer released on Oct. 5. Several of the 10 tracks feature Watson's wife of 16 years, Kimberly, and their children; Jake, 12, Jack, 10 and Jolee Kate, 8. They join him on Christmas classics including "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "Christmas Time Is Here," "Baby It's Cold Outside," "Jingle Bells" and more. Watson wrote "Lonely Lonestar Christmas" specifically for the new album, and he also recorded an original Drew Womack song, "She Stared at Him All Night," for the project. That song depicts Mary in the manger with Jesus.
