Fiery Big Rig Blaze Stops Traffic on I-35 in Dallas

According to witnesses, traffic slowed to a crawl as emergency crews rushed to the scene. The blaze appeared to have started in the truck’s engine compartment before spreading to the trailer and nearby vegetation. Drivers could be seen pulling over at a safe distance as the fire intensified.

Lake Dallas Fire Department officials said the incident was contained before it could spread further down the highway. No injuries were reported, though several lanes were temporarily closed while crews worked to extinguish the flames and clear debris.

The video, which you can see below, shows just how quickly a vehicle fire can escalate, especially under the dry North Texas conditions that have lingered into the fall. Authorities are investigating what caused the fire, but have not released any details.
