Ahead of the rapidly-approaching 2019 CMA Awards, a new compilation video ad for the event asks some of the genre's biggest stars what country music has meant to their lives. This year's co-hosts -- Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire -- are just a few of the superstar artists to take on the question.

"Country music has been there for me since Day One," Underwood says at the outset of the clip. "It's just telling ordinary stories in an extraordinary way about extraordinary people," Parton offers, when asked about the meaning of country music in her own life.

In her response, McEntire highlights the genre's ability to connect with its listeners on a deep level. "Country music bears its soul in a song. That goes through the core of your being," she adds. Press play above to hear other country artists, such as Chris Stapleton and Garth Brooks, have to say about their relationship to country music.

The awards' shows three co-hosts will have a busy evening at the 2019 CMAs; all three of them are scheduled to perform in addition to their hosting duties. Parton has already shared that she will be delivering a faith-filled performance of "God Only Knows," "There Was Jesus" and "Faith," the latter of which is a new, not-yet-released song from Parton.

The 2019 CMA Awards are scheduled to air on ABC on Nov. 13, at 8PM ET; the ceremony will take place live at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. McEntire, Parton and Underwood will co-host the event, which will also be highlighting some of country music's female artists. Additional performers, as well as a list of presenters, will be announced in the coming weeks.
