Celebrity Spotted Filming in Central Texas
Gordon Ramsay, the famous British chef known for his fiery personality, was seen filming near Georgetown Square, likely for an upcoming episode of Kitchen Nightmares according to this article. You can watch the video of Ramsey and crew walking the square in the video at the bottom of this article.
Ramsay may have been filming at The Grumpy George, a British pub located at 114 E. Seventh St., Suite 112.
City Permits Give Clues
A city permit confirms filming took place between Oct. 6-11 at that location. Ramsay's team also got a permit for filming around Austin from Oct. 8-19, suggesting multiple locations might be involved.
Back in June, a casting call went out, asking struggling restaurants in Austin, Houston, and New Orleans to apply for a show with Ramsay.
Much Improvement
The Grumpy George has had mixed health inspection results. In January, it scored just 54% on a routine inspection due to 46 demerits. However, after making improvements, it earned an 88% on a follow-up inspection. By March, it scored 96% with only six demerits.
Kitchen Nightmares, which ran for seven seasons before taking a break in 2014, rebooted in 2023. The show has only featured one other Texas restaurant—El Greco in Austin, which aired in 2012.
