Chris Stapleton’s live sets have been a goldmine of potential album teasers in recent months. During his 2019 All-American Road Show, he's unveiled “The Bad Side of the Blood," “Minimum Wage” and, more recently, “Get Down to Arkansas.”

The latter debuted over the summer, while Stapleton toured with like-minded bandleader Marcus King and singer-songwriter Brent Cobb. Per stage banter during an August show (according to Whiskey Riff), the song was born when Stapleton drove a car his wife Morgane Stapleton picked out for his birthday from Oklahoma City back home to Nashville.

During an Oct. 12 show in West Palm Beach, Fla., Stapleton sweetened “Get Down to Arkansas” by performing it with friends and fellow stars Brothers Osborne. As an all-star jam session, the song goes from yet another potential album track to a likely ACM Vocal Event of the Year nomination, assuming the final product is, in fact, a collaboration and approaches the quality of the live clip posted above.

Whenever Stapleton releases a new album, it'll be his fourth. He last released a new project, the multi-Grammy-nominated From A Room, Vol. 2, in late 2017 (Vol. 1 arrived earlier that year).

As for Brothers Osborne, they've appeared in recent years on albums from Dierks Bentley, Maren Morris, Brooks & Dunn and others. Fingers crossed that they’re involved in at least one song during Stapleton’s next trip to the studio.

Stapleton's All-American Road Show's 2019 iteration picked back up earlier this month, with Brothers Osborne and Kendell Marvel as opening acts. The trek will continue through early November.
