City of Wichita Falls Considering Cell Phone Ban For Drivers [POLL]

Wichita Falls may be about to add some more ‘big brother’ to your life by taking away your cell phone while driving.

KFDX reports a proposed ordinance would ban anyone driving an automobile or even a bicycle from using a cell phone while driving. A driver would be granted exceptions to the ordinance if they are parked or if they are in need of emergency assistance such as police or fire.

Many other cities have similar bans already in place. Studies indicate that you are more likely to be involved in an accident if you’re on a cell phone while driving.  Currently, state law already prohibits using a cell phone while in an active school zone.
