Did Taylor Swift Crash a Wedding With Conor Kennedy?
While her new single continues to buzz, Taylor Swift is focused on spending quality with her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, and his iconic American family. But it sounds like the two young lovebirds are having an emotional visit right now, as reports have surfaced that in addition to spending time visiting the gravesite of Conor’s mother, the late Mary Richardson Kennedy, the pair accidentally(?) crashed a wedding over the weekend.
Swift and Kennedy are said to have stopped in at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston for the wedding of Kyle Kennedy and Liam Kerr. Kyle’s mother is Victoria Gifford Kennedy, the wife of the late Michael Kennedy, who was the son of Robert F. Kennedy. You got all that? Word has it that Conor had been invited to Kyle’s wedding, but like any 18-year-old, he forgot to RSVP. He and Swift reportedly texted the bride’s mom and asked for permission to attend, but they were denied.
“[Conor and Taylor] texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come. I responded with a very clear, ‘Please do not come,’” Victoria Gifford Kennedy told the Boston Herald. “They came anyway. … I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me.”
Here’s the weird part: Swift’s people deny that the mix-up ever happened. Her publicist told the Herald that, “Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there.”
A classic case of she-said, she-said, perhaps? Regardless of what happened, it sounds like this strange wedding gaff was just a misunderstanding. Swift and Conor could have been distracted by their plans to visit the gravesite of Conor’s late mother.
According to TMZ, the ‘Speak Now’ hitmaker played the role of supportive girlfriend on Tuesday when she accompanied Conor and other family members to the late Mary Richardson Kennedy’s final resting place. Mary died back in May when she committed suicide after suffering from years of depression.
When not rubbing elbows with the Kennedys, Swift is preparing the release of her forthcoming studio album, ‘Red,’ which hits stores on Oct. 22. She will be appearing at the 2012 MTV VMAs in September and is also scheduled to shoot an episode of VH1′s ‘Storytellers,’ which will air in November.
