The Dallas Mavericks are finally ditching the mask mandate.

Fox 4 is reporting that the Mavs will no longer require fans to wear masks during home games at American Airlines Center. The decision was made following updated guidance from the CDC as well as Dallas County’s revised mask mandate.

The new guidance goes into effect immediately, meaning fans won’t be required to wear them during tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

Fans attending Mavericks games will still be able to get vaccinated on site. The vaccine clinic, which is located in the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Club, opens two hours prior to tipoff and closes at halftime.

Relaxing the mask mandate is the latest step the team has taken toward completely dropping all COVID-19 restrictions.

Fans had been required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to attend home games. However, the team announced in October that it would relax the vaccine mandate.

COVID-19 case numbers continue to drop drastically across the state, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
