6 Places You’ve Seen Foy Vance Before
Foy Vance isn't a household name in mainstream country music circles yet, but that could soon change. Here are six places you've likely seen (or heard) the Irish-born singer-songwriter before.
This month, Taste of Country released two live versions of songs from Vance's new To Memphis album. "Malibu Jane" and "Cradled in Arms" are slow, powerful ballads that you may find yourself watching again and again, but songs like "Burden" and "She Burns" are his most well-known.
Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and Ed Sheeran are artists whom Vance has worked with in recent years, and we're told he's formed writing relationships with Hardy, Brett Eldredge and Little Big Town, too. Scroll down to learn more about him.
At the 2019 ACM Awards
In April 2019, Keith Urban performed a Foy Vance song called "Burden" at the ACM Awards. He'd just recently heard the song and was so inspired he needed to sing it live. This led to several collaborations between the two artists, including one at AmericanaFest in Nashville in September 2019.
On Miranda Lambert's Most Celebrated Record
Vance and Lambert (along with Natalie Hemby) wrote "Pushin' Time," one of the more intimate songs on Lambert's The Weight of These Wings album (2016).
With Ed Sheeran
The pair are friends, since Vance opened shows for Sheeran a decade or so ago. In 2015 Vance became the second artist signed to Sheeran's Gingerbread Man Records. The pop star has been known to cover "Guiding Light," one of the Irishman's most popular songs.
In the Song Devin Dawson Covered for RISERS
Aside from those that noticed the credit on Lambert's album, few mainstream country fans knew of Foy Vance until Devin Dawson chose his song "She Burns" as his cover for his 2018 RISERS shoot.
In Actress Courteney Cox's Twitter Feed
True story: "Monica" from the TV show Friends inspired a new Vance song called "Malibu Jane." She quite literally is "Malibu Jane" and celebrated that on Twitter one day.
With Elton John
In 2016, Vance opened the Wonderful Crazy Tour with Elton John. If they performed together, the video didn't make it to YouTube.
