Home Free asked Rachel Wammack to sing "Tennessee Christmas" with them because they're fans, and because they thought her voice was well-suited for a remake of the classic Amy Grant song. This more rhythmic version of the Christmas staple also adds new harmonies to help create a warm, contemporary mix fans of the group are sure to enjoy for Christmases to come.

Watch the collaborative video here during Taste of Country's exclusive premiere of "Tennessee Christmas." Wammack takes lead to start the song before Tim Foust and the rest of the group pick up the second verse. The video finds them enjoying a campfire in the winter between daytime shots of the "Damage" singer seated on a sofa between two decorated pines.

The story of how the collaborators met is simple. Wammack opened a show that featured Home Free and Reba McEntire earlier this year, and they became fans. Austin Brown recalls hearing of her through some songwriter friends, and when he got a chance to hear her live, he lit up.

"I couldn't keep my inner ‘fangirl’ at bay," he shares. "Thankfully, she didn’t hold that against me."

"I’ve always been a fan of big vocals, so it was amazing to collaborate with a group like Home Free, and hope our version of this song gets people in the holiday spirit," Wammack adds. She grew up in Muscle Shoals, Ala., but is not the only one involved with the song who can appreciate Christmas in a warm-weather climate.

Adam Chance says this song was a holiday staple for his family. "It didn't feel like Christmas until I heard that song, so choosing to put our own spin on it and making it a holiday collaboration with Rachel was an easy decision," he shares.

Home Free are currently on their Dive Bar Christmas Tour, which runs through Dec. 22 and wraps in Mankato, Minn. Dive Bar Saints is the name of their most recent studio album, released in Sept. 2019.
