Houston Highway Blaze Turns Car to Liquid
Houston is used to hot weather, but nothing could prepare drivers for what happened on a busy highway this week.
A car caught fire during rush hour, and by the time firefighters arrived, the vehicle was almost unrecognizable. Witnesses said it looked like the car had melted into the pavement.
The fire started suddenly, sending thick black smoke into the air. When the flames were finally put out, only a twisted, melted mess of metal was left. Experts believe the fire was so intense because of flammable materials inside the car, possibly combined with a fuel or chemical leak.
Car fires are rare, but they remind us of the risks on the road. As temperatures rise and accidents happen, it’s important to stay alert and know what to do in an emergency. For now, this melted car serves as a dramatic warning about the power of fire—and the Texas heat.
