If you're among the many people who travel to Oklahoma to spend some time at a casino on the weekend, one of your options is about to get a major expansion. One of the drawbacks to traveling for casino based entertainment is the amount of time you have to drive to get there, and usually there isn't a hotel attached.

The only casino in the Oklahoma panhandle is about to change that.

Golden Mesa Casino In Guymon, Oklahoma Is Expanding

Golden Mesa Casino is currently a 40,000 square foot gamblers oasis in the Oklahoma panhandle. There are tons of slot machines, and plenty of table games to satisfy your gaming itch.

They also have the bar, restaurant, and a retail shop.

Near the end of this month, on Sep 22, they will be having a ground breaking on an expansion project that is bringing some very important amenities to the casino.

Golden Mesa Casino Is Getting A Hotel, And More

This expansion project is going to make Golden Mesa Casino a big entertainment destination. At least it looks like it will.

They'll be adding an RV park to the casino. Along with that is the addition of a 100-room hotel and full service restaurant, which is the part that I find to be the most exciting. They're also doubling the size of their casino gaming floor to include more than 1,000 electronic games.

This is pretty good news for those of us in the Texas panhandle that enjoy casino style entertainment. One, it's nice to have several options. Two, it's nice when they have an on-site hotel. You can find out more about Golden Mesa by following this link, and hopefully this expansion is finished sooner rather than later.
