Wild Footage of Water Over Roads and Power Flashes in North Texas
Texas has been hit hard by severe weather lately.
This last weekend was particularly rough, with at least seven left dead after the tornado outbreak last Saturday night (May 25). And it looks as though the days ahead will bring severe weather, according to the latest forecast.
The thing that is most surprising about this storm season is just how much rain we have gotten across the Lone Star State. It feels like we’re always dealing with either drought conditions or flooding in this neck of the woods. This year, it’s all about flooding.
It’s amazing how quickly flood waters rise. One minute there’s about an inch or two standing in the road, the next thing you know water is up over your hood – and that’s when people find themselves in danger.
The below video captured by a driver on I-635 in Dallas shows the moment flood waters come pouring over the barrier in the middle of the freeway like a waterfall in the rain forest. The driver is freaking out, and rightfully so. Fortunately, he was able to make it through and share the clip with Dallas Texas TV.
Y’all stay safe out there. And remember – turn around, don’t drown.
