A Medal of Honor Museum is getting ready to open next month in Gainesville, Texas. The museum has reached out to a local Wichita Falls business to get some work done and they're up to the task.

A new museum is opening up on the North Central Texas College campus in Gainesville, Texas. The museum is honoring members of the military that have received the medal of honor. Exhibits from Medal of Honor recipients as far back as The Civil War will be honored here. Fun fact, the first person to receive the Medal of Honor was Private Jacob Parrot. He received the award in 1863 for his role in the Great Locomotive Chase during the American Civil War

The museum's website states their goal is not just to honor these courageous military members. The museum serves as a vibrant venue that celebrates the enduring legacy of our nation’s heroes. Through dynamic public programs and thought-provoking lectures, the museum highlights their remarkable contributions.

When it comes to custom metal in Wichita Falls. It's hard to find another place in town that does it better than The Burn Shop. They have amazing custom grills, fire pits, and metal signage all over town. However, this piece they're working on (part of it seen above) is going to be apart of memorial at this Medal of Honor Museum.

Medal of Honor Museum Opens in Gainesville April 10th, 2025

While The Burn Shop is hard at work on this memorial. They say it will be ready to go on April 10th for the opening ceremony. The memorial will stand about 18 feet tall and stretch 63 feet long, to be mounted on concrete walls at the museum once it is completed. For fans that would like to check out a sneak peek of the memorial, they can stop by The Burn Shop this weekend to see the progress. They're located at 815 Ohio Avenue.
