The Texas City With Some of the Worst Drivers in the U.S.
A recent study found that a city in Texas had some of the worst drivers in the country.
Everyone complains about bad drivers in every city. Of course, no one would ever admit to being one. We would all rather point the finger at others than take a good hard look at ourselves.
And when you think about it, what constitutes a bad driver? It’s 100% subjective. What I think makes someone a bad driver may not be in line with what you consider to be bad driving.
Certainly, we can agree that aspects such as distracted driving, driving under the influence, and speeding recklessly through traffic are bad driving habits.
But how do you feel about people not using their turn signals? I don’t know about you, but it drives me up the wall when someone doesn’t let others around them know their intentions.
Or how about people who drive slowly in the left lane? That’s another habit that grinds my gears. It blows my mind that so many people don’t realize the left lane is for passing.
So, how do you objectively determine which cities have the worst drivers?
Researchers at Consumer Affairs analyzed reported crash data from the U.S. Department of Transportation in 2022 to figure out which cities had the worst drivers in the country.
And if you live in Wichita Falls like I do, you probably expect our city to be ranked among those with the worst drivers and you would be correct. Fallstown was ranked #7 for the worst drivers in the U.S. with a crash score of 54.6, well above the national average of 28.5.
Maybe it’s time for all of us to take an honest look at our own driving habits and be a little better behind the wheel.
