A recent study revealed which Texas city had the rudest residents.

You hear folks talk about Southern hospitality all the time. And my experience has been that Southerners are typically well-mannered. That said, there are rude people everywhere.

In fact, the study conducted by Preply found that several cities in the Southern United States were among the 10 rudest cities in the country. I can honestly say I didn’t see that coming.

But what about the Lone Star State?

The good news is that no Texas cities were ranked among the 10 rudest cities. The bad news is that 3 were ranked in the Top 20. Sometimes you just have to take the bad with the good.

Researchers polled residents from the largest cities in the country, asking them questions like how often they witness others committing rude acts and how they perceive the rudeness of native residents versus transplants, among other things.

Ultimately, it was determined that Houston was the rudest city in Texas, coming in at Number 13 overall. Space City received an overall rudeness score of 8.04 out of 10.

There are plenty of rude folks in Austin as well. Our state capital was ranked the 16th rudest city in the country with an overall rudeness score of 7.97.

Dallas didn’t do much better. Big D had an overall rudeness score of 7.83, which landed it at Number 18 on the list.

Texas may be known as ‘The Friendly State,’ but there are obviously plenty of people among us who are anything but friendly.
